Volodymyr Ostrovsyi was born in Lviv in 2008 and entered the Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum in 2021. Since then, he has taken part in dozens of olympiads and competitions, for example the All-Ukrainian Physics Olympiad (1st and 2nd place) and the All-Ukrainian Internet Physics Olympiad (1st and 2nd place).

Volodymyr is also interested in computer science and has won several small competitions, the largest of which was the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Informatics (3rd place).

Outside of school, he likes to spend time with his friends playing basketball or walking around the city. He likes rollerblading, skating, and playing tennis.
