Illia Koval is currently a PhD student at IST Austria, working in the group led by Vadim Kaloshin. He attended Academic Lyceum #45 in Kharkiv during his high school years. Under the supervision of Oleksandr Kryzhanovskyi Illia won a gold medal at the IMO 2018 and earned an honorable mention at the IMO 2017. Additionally, Illia received a silver medal at the IOI 2017. After completing his secondary education, Illia attended V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in mathematics.
