Bohdan Fochuk was born in Chernivtsi in 2007. He studied in Chernivtsi Lyceum №1 before he entered the Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum in 2022, where he is now finishing his last year of high school. 

Bohdan has won prizes in the Lviv and Chernivtsi regional chemistry, mathematics, and physics olympiads. In 2021-2022, he obtained first places in physics, mathematics, and chemistry (Chernivtsi, Ukraine). Unfortunately, the All-Ukrainian state of these olympiads did not take place that year because of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. 

In 2024, he participated in the Baltic Chemistry Olympiad (May 2024, Tartu, Estonia) where he placed third in the unofficial rating. He earned a silver medal in the International Chemistry Olympiad 2024 (July 2024, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).

Bohdan's main field of interest is chemistry. In December 2023, he participated in the All-Ukrainian tournament of Young Chemists, a team competition, as the captain of the Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum team. His team won the tournament! Also, he received a diploma for the best polemics in the tournament.

Bohdan enjoys playing guitar, volleyball, reading, hiking, and cooking in his free time. In the future, Bohdan wants to study and work in the area of Chemistry.
