Dariia Balan was born in Kyiv in 2009. Since eighth grade, she has been a student at the mathematical branch of Boiko School  — Boiko Super Math. She has attended extracurricular mathematics classes at Сyfra since third grade and Smart School since ninth grade.

Dariia has won many prizes in various mathematical olympiads. She won second prize at the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Mathematics both in 2023 and 2024. She also won first place at the XVII Dürer Competition in the E-category. She is driven to obtain even better results in the future.

She regularly attends mathematics and multi-subject science camps, where she has a lot of fun studying new topics and solving a variety of problems. Dariia has also helped with the organization of science events for children.

Dariia has creative hobbies other than mathematics and science as well. She loves baking and preparing interesting dishes, exploring new places, and drawing. In fact, Dariia attended art school for over three years.
